Mission: Climate

In February 2024, MIT announced the Climate Project, an Institute-wide response to climate change, drawing on MIT’s expertise and signature interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving.

The prototype demonstrates both structural load bearing and the ability to power an LED, with the light’s intensity varying under applied load, highlighting the potential for real-time structural health monitoring via the supercapacitor.
