Why the courts are siding with climate change activists

A recent Guardian article has highlighted the increasing role that courts across the world are playing in tackling climate inaction.

The article states that “Climate change litigation is an invaluable strategy at a time when governments have failed to live up to their repeated promises”.

The author provides numerous examples of climate victories won in the courts, including a recent ruling in South Africa which denied the South African government the right to build a new coal-fired power station.
