Sorry, scooters aren't so climate-friendly after all

Researchers at North Carolina State University performed a life-cycle assessment on electric scooters and made the surprising discovery that the vehicles are far less "eco-friendly" than they are advertised to be. In this article, James Temple, MIT Technology Review's senior editor for energy, walks through the climate impact of battery-powered scooters, analyzing their merit as an alternative mode of transportation.
