How cell phones can measure air pollution

The Senseable City Lab at MIT have developed an innovative method of measuring air pollution...by using our cell phone data.

Using New York City as a model, the Senseable City team tracked the movement of people throughout the city using cell phone data. They combined this with neighbourhood air pollution information for New York City and produced detailed maps of air pollution exposure.

Find out more about this Senseable City and their air pollution project here.
