Climate change or just crazy weather? How improving tools make it easier to tell.

World Weather Attribution researchers employ computer models to ascertain connections between extreme weather conditions, such as recent heat waves, and human-caused climate change. In this article, James Temple, MIT Technology Review's senior editor for energy, discusses how technological advances are making it easier to assess the role of climate change in specific severe weather events.
