MIT startup aims to expand America’s lithium production

The Lithios system uses an undisclosed electrode material that attaches to lithium when exposed to precise voltages. Co-founder and CEO Mo Alkhadra explains: “Think of a big battery with wastewater flowing into the system. When the brine comes into contact with our electrodes, it selectively pulls lithium while rejecting essentially all the other contaminants.”
