Visual "before" and "after" comparisons of two bananas after nine days. One received a silk coating and remains yellow while the other didn't

Cambridge Crops, co-founded by J-WAFS PI Benedetto Marelli, is using silk-based biodegradable coatings to extend the self life of  produce. The technology could alter current methods of food packaging that rely heavily on plastics. Read more.
