About

In 1989, I went on a long summer hike in the White Mountains near the MIT cabin with a number of other MIT and Harvard grad students interested in climate change. We were from all over the place, discipline-wise, and had been visiting various departments throughout the year initiating seminars on the subject. You could count our crowd on two hands, but it felt like the beginning of something. Part way through the hike a ferocious storm came up and we turned our attention from climate change to short-term weather.
